Fun & Frugal Summer Activities for Kids #24 Sponge Bombs

If your little people are anything like mine they are constantly asking if they can play in the water outside.  They love to play in the sprinkler, have water balloon fights, and squirt water guns.

I came across this great idea to make Sponge Bombs that I am sure my kids {and yours} will absolutely love!

Here is whatcha need:

  • Lots of sponges
  • Zip Ties
  • Mop refill and cleaning cloths {they are not necessary, but they sure are super cute!}

Now that you have your supplies, here's whatcha do:
  1. Cut the sponges and cleaning cloths into strips.  Seperate the mop refill if you are using one.
  2. Now, in a no rthyme or reason kinda way grab a bunch in your hand.
  3. Next, wrap a zippy tie around the middle and pull tightly.  Trim the extra plastic.  If you are using the mop refills or cloths you can tie a strip of one around the zippy tie to cover the plastic.
  4. Fill some buckets and go play!
