The Battle Hymn of the Republic

by Julia W. Howe

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free;
[originally …let us die to make men free]
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

Ok, I know this is areally old one but I have always loved this song!  Even though I am sure you have heard it a ga-zillion times, you can listen to it here.

Saturday Solutions: Drink Station

Not sure if I have mentioned it before or not but yes I am guilty.  I color code my children.  To the best of my ability I try to find things for them in "their color."  Here is how I have them color coded...

The Lil' Chef is Purple
Computer Girl is Pink
Alpha Boy is Blue
Little Bits is Orange

The things I try to color code are towels, toothbrushes, cups, plates (more on this in a minute) and NOW they have a color coded drink station.  I saw this idea on another blog, I would happily give credit to this super smart blogger but I can't remember where I saw it, sorry.

Anyhow this is what a drink station is....

I am not sure about your little crew but my crew thinks they need a N.E.W. cup every time they need to wet their whistles.   I don't know about you but I do not like washing 57 cups every day!  So, when I saw this handy dandy idea I knew it was a keeper!  Here's how you do it....

Packing tape, mono adhesive (or double stick tape), card stock or construction paper and a hole punch.  Oh yeah, and scissors to cut your tape.  1st punch your desired shape from your paper and tape them (mono or double stick tape) to the counter.  Trust me on this one, it helps them to not move when you place the packing tape over them.  I'm not saying I had to do this a few times to get it right or anything : )
Make sure that the tape covers all the edges of your punched shape, especially if this drink station is by the sink where it may get a little wet.  Again, not sayin' this happened to me or anything.  The finished product...

It might not look like much, but it really has cut down on the dirty cups in the LSG household.  No more extra cups to wash!  Everyone has a cup for the day and they know exactly where it is.  Believe it or not, the kids actually remember to put their drinks here when they are not drinking them.

BTW is anyone does know the owner of this idea please let me know so that I can give them credit, thanks! : )

Camping with the Family - Part 1

Most summers since I was a little girl I have been to Ocean City, Maryland.  I have lots of childhood memories of this place.  I surely can't come here with out thinking of my Mom or my buddy Melissa.  So, for the most part we have started the same tradition of bringing our kids to the beach.  Except now we camp!  The Hubs and I are very blessed to have a travel trailer, it is like a cozy little home away from home.

Last year we found this awesome little campground called Frontier Town, evidently it has been around for a looong time.  I would have to say it is my 2nd favorite campground (Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach is our 1st).  The campground is western themed, has mini golf, a huge arcade, a western theme park and BEST OF ALL they have a WATER PARK!!!  The water park is included in your stay which is great for our pockie books.

Thought I'd share some of the fun we are having this week.....

Not a great start to our vacation.  They have been calling for rain all week.  This is about the time I start praying for good weather : )

After 7 ga-zillion "are we there yet's," we finally arrive.  Can you feel the van shaking from the kids and I jumping up and down in our seats?

Here is the western jail we pass by.  I told the kids that they would be sent there if they misbehaved.  Just kiddin'!

Sofa bed and Dinette.

This is the inside of the trailer.  Praise God for bump outs!  We have a nice bit of space to spread out, on days that it rains ALL DAY LONG, like yesterday for instance.

The kitchenette, and do ya see the $5 crockpot!  I used this to cook my potatoes for potato salad and BBQ Chicken yesterday when we decided to not grill out in the pouring down rain.

Excuse the mess but this is our bunk beds.  The girls are supposed to sleep here but....

this is where they usually end up. (pull out sofa)

Frontier Town has a water park.  My favorite part is the lazy river, although it makes me think of my mom.

The Hubs and Little Bits.  The Hubs lost his sunglasses, can ya tell.

Frolicking in the water.

Cheesin' at the water park.

After the water park we came back and hung at the campsite.

Grilled steak and burnt corn, YES we royally burnt the corn. NOTE TO SELF: Do not cook corn on the cob on the campfire.

I will post more pics tomorrow.
