Rock of Ages
by Augustus M. Toplady
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure;
Save from wrath and make me pure.
Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.
Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to the cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure;

Little Green Books Review & GIVEAWAY!
A few weeks ago we were blessed with 7 Little Green Books from Simon & Schuster. Little Green Books are a line of books that focus on environmental awareness, recycling, endangered animals and planting. These books are made from recycled materials, which we thought was REALLY COOL!
Easy to Be Green by Ellie O'Ryan -This is a activity book that is filled with pages to color, a word search and loads of information. Lots of things for the kids to enjoy! I love how they even talk about natural cleaning products in here. I learned how to make an all natural furniture polish!

This is Our World by Emily Sollinger - This is a really neat board book. On each page of the book there is a puzzle piece that the kids collect and at the end of the book the kids can put together a double sided puzzle. This book talks about the environment, pollution, gardening and recycling. This book even gave us an idea to make a recycled bird feeder!
Don't Throw That Away! by Lara Bergen - This one is also a board book but this one is a Lift the Flap book. In this book we learned several ideas for recycling common household items into something new, instead of throwing it away.
The Adventures of an Aluminum Can & The Adventures of a Plastic Bottle by Alison Inches
These books are super cute, I think these are my favorite! They are written in the form of a diary. They talk about how aluminum cans and plastic bottles are made and recycled. Did you know that plastic came from crude oil? Dora Celebrates Earth Day! - In this book we learned about conserving energy, gardening, recycling and keeping the Earth clean. The kids of course love Dora, although the girls won't always admit it!
Watch Me Grow! Blue Plants a Seed - This was a great book. We learned about gardening, planting seeds and how they grow. We planted seeds this year and started our own garden so the kids were really able to relate to this book. We really liked this one too!
The kids putting the puzzle together in the This is Our World book.
This is the completed puzzle, cute isn't it!
Overall, the children and I learned many things that we didn't know before about caring for the Earth, recycling and reusing. I believe reading the Little Green Books helped to give us a better understanding of things that we can do to be good stewards of the Earth that the Lord has given us. We have not started recycling yet but I plan to real soon!
