I am still thinking on it. My girls are STILL begging me for guinea pigs. My response so far as been "Love ya, but NO!" I am seriously considering the turtle.
A good friend of mine has graciously offered to loan us 2 of her birds until the novelty wears off, I am thinking we might take her up on it. I told her we would in return loan or give her our rottie and she of course said no way! Can't blame me for trying. Well, at least she isn't jumping the fence and runing through the neighborhood anymore, PRAISE GOD!
We ALMOST got 2 female rats from a lady on craigslist but someone else got to them first. Can't really believe that I was even considering that one.
I'll keep you all posted and thanks for taking our poll!

Menu Plan Monday
Simple family friendly fare this week. I think I came up for my grocery list and menu in 10 minutes - that might be a new record. For the 3rd week in a row I am going to attempt to have a birthday dinner for my husband. Everyone is still on the mend from being sick.
I enjoyed crocking last week. I am thinking that every mother should own a crockpot and a crockpot cookbook! Instead of the hospital sending you home with thatcheesey pleather wonderful black vinyl diaper bag, that most of us never use, they should send us home with a crockpot! Now that's a thought! : )
We all loved the Clean out your pantry minestrone soup last week, it was simple and very yummy! The Applesauce Chicken and the Brown Sugar Chicken, yeah not so much. Can't really ever imagine making either of those again.
My kids are stilling loving the Giant Breakfast Cookies. I am going to have to make a triple batch of those real soon, we are on our last few cookies. Haven't gotten to the breakfast cake yet but hope to soon.
Enough babbling, here's what we are eating this week...

Anyone tried anything new lately??

And Can It Be That I Should Gain?
by Charles Wesley
And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
’Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.
He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.
No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?

Instead of Watching Saturday Morning Cartoons, We Made Our Own!!
We just finished playing a super fun card game called Pick and Draw! We were blessed with this game about a week ago and have been loving it ever since. Have you guys ever heard of the Tiny books? They are about this dog named Tiny that is anything but (he is huge)! Well, anywho the illustrater for the Tiny books, Rich Davis, has created this great game called Pick and Draw.

This is a great tool to get the kid's creative juices flowing. Even though each of my children were drawing from the same cards, their pictures were very different. They had great time drawing and naming their characters. Rich encourages you to really have fun with the characters by giving them names, hoobies and such. We will be using these in our workboxes to draw characters and write stories about them!
If you would like a Pick and Draw card game of your very own you can find them on here on Rich's Website. Did I tell you they are ONLY $10 a deck! What a deal! What a deal!
